Snowmass Colorado is a village of the Pitkin County, Colorado area. It is a home rule municipality that has a population of 2,826 at the 2010 census.
Alpin Room
The Alpin Room is not the only high-end dining option in the Snowmass ski resort. For a fraction of the cost of the aforementioned eponymous, visitors can experience a similar quality of affluence at the Viceroy Snowmass hotel. During peak ski season, guests can even enjoy a gourmet dinner in their rooms via the aptly named Stark’s Alpine Grill.
Viceroy
If you’re looking for the ultimate mountain experience, Viceroy Snowmass is the place to go. This luxury resort offers year-round recreation, dining, and spa experiences. It’s located just minutes from Aspen and Snowmass Village. Guests can ski to and from the property, and a complimentary shuttle service runs to downtown Aspen and Snowmass Village.
Guests can choose from 173 ski-in/ski-out hotel residences. These include studios, apartments, and three and four-bedroom condominiums. Some of the rooms also feature fireplaces, private sundecks, and kitchens.
Viceroy Snowmass has a 7,000-square-foot spa. Located beyond a custom brass gate, the wellness center features a meditative relaxation lounge and six luxurious treatment rooms. There’s also a hydrotherapy Vichy showers room, and a couple’s suite.
Limelight
Limelight Hotel Snowmass offers rustic-chic accommodations and a full array of amenities and activities. Situated in Snowmass Village, the hotel is close to the Elk Camp Gondola and shopping. It also offers a ski and adventure concierge. You can even hire a private guide for hiking in the surrounding area.
The hotel’s in-house restaurant, The Lounge, is worth a visit. The menu features European-inspired fare and creative cocktails. In addition, The Lounge has a state-of-the-art conference room that is perfect for weddings and other corporate events.
Aside from the restaurant and spa, Limelight Hotel Snowmass boasts other notable amenities. You can also enjoy an outdoor heated hot tub, a fitness center, and ski-in, ski-out access. Plus, Limelight Hotel offers free wireless Internet and a 24-hour front desk.
Taster’s
Snowmass Colorado is more than just a snowy ski resort. It is a destination that combines all of the best of the outdoors with impressive art and food scenes.
The Snowmass free concert series is a great way to see local musicians in a unique setting. Music on the Mall runs Fridays at 6 p.m. During the winter, the lawn is equipped with an ice rink and a bouncy house.
Base Camp is the town’s hopping hotspot during the winter months. There’s plenty of mid-day entertainment to be had here, as well as some of the town’s best burgers.
Besides being one of the largest ski resorts in the country, Snowmass offers a few other things to do. For instance, you could take a ride on the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster. Or, you can take a stroll on the scenic Rim Trail South. You’ll also get to see some of the town’s best sites, like the Maroon Bells, which are one of the most photographed vistas in the state.
Bike park
Snowmass Colorado bike park has over 80 km of lift-served trails and is designed for riders of all ages and skill levels. In addition to the park’s purpose-built trails, it offers a variety of cross-country options as well.
One of the most exciting aspects of this bike park is the sheer number of vertical feet of riding you can do. The park has nearly 3,000 feet of vertical riding spanning almost a mile and a half. It’s not hard to see why this is considered one of the best places in the nation to ride.
Another highlight is the kids’ skills park. There are three areas in the park with dedicated space for beginners to improve their skills.
Outdoor activities
Snowmass is a resort village with many outdoor activities and attractions. The area offers skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, and more. This mountainous destination is also home to several major festivals focusing on music and art.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Snowmass has over 80 miles of hiking trails. These include aspen groves, grassy meadows, and natural wonders. It is also a great place for dog sledding.
If you want to explore the backcountry, you can take a guided tour of the area with an experienced musher. Guided jeep tours are also available to see the beautiful views of the mountains.
Snowmass also has two 18-hole mountain disc golf courses. One is at the base of the mountain, and the other is near the Mall.
