Crested Butte Mountain Resort is often called Colorado’s “last great ski town.” Its ski culture and small-town character have resisted the corporate forces of resort conglomerates.
There’s no glitz and glamour here, just a genuine ski resort that feels like what Aspen might have been about 30 years ago (before Wall St invaded). The base area has everything you need for a ski vacation in one place — rentals, overnight storage, retail shops, restaurants, and more.
Inns & Lodges
Staying in one of Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s many Inns & Lodges is the perfect way to enjoy this fun alpine town. These hotels range from upscale ski-in/ski-out resorts to quaint boutique hotels downtown.
The Elk Mountain Lodge is a historic hotel and inn that dates back to 1919. This remodeled inn combines old world charm with modern amenities, providing the ideal escape for anyone looking to get away from it all.
Elevation Hotel & Spa is another high-end Crested Butte ski-in/ski-out resort. The hotel combines mountain charm with modern design for an elevated wellness experience that’s sure to leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized.
Guests will find plenty of room, modern furnishings, balconies and plush bedding in their rooms at Scarp Ridge Lodge. With slope-side dining at 9380 Tavern, this hotel is a popular place for locals and visitors to indulge in a delicious meal while enjoying breathtaking views of Mt. Crested Butte. The hotel also offers a full spa and indoor saltwater pool.
The Grand Lodge
If you are looking for a good value ski resort lodging option, look no further than The Grand Lodge. This surprisingly spacious hotel is located close to the slopes and offers a free shuttle service.
The 220 room hotel is full service, with a Wildflower Spa, indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, a fitness facility and business center. The onsite Woodstone Grill and Deli serve Starbucks coffee, fresh snacks and grab-and-go breakfast items to help keep you going throughout your stay.
Guests can enjoy the ski slopes, equipment rentals and lessons all within walking distance from the hotel. You can also take advantage of the complimentary shuttle service to shop, dine and visit Old Town Crested Butte.
The hotel rooms are surprisingly spacious and the bathrooms were very clean. However, the rooms were starting to show signs of age and need some refurbishment work – light fixtures and closet doors needed to be replaced.
