According to the Panadero Ski Corp., the plan is to open the chairlift for service in December. However, the chairlift is currently not certified. For that reason, there is no special use permit for it.

Lola Spradley, a four-term Colorado lawmaker, has been a vocal advocate for rural economic development programs. She is hopeful that a small, but modest proposal for Cuchara skiing will convince the Forest Service to grant a special use permit.
