The village has plenty of places to dine, drink and socialize, but it’s also a place to enjoy peace and quiet. In the evening, the town’s outdoor music scene catches on as well, including weekly free concerts on Fanny Hill.
Skiing
The four mountains that make up the Aspen Snowmass ski area offer a variety of terrain and are perfect for both experts and beginners. Whether you’re here for powder days, the ESPN Winter X Games, or world-class dining and lodging, you’ll find everything you need to make your Colorado trip memorable.
Snowmass Mountain offers 3,132 acres of skiable terrain, and the longest lift-accessed vertical in the United States, at 4,406 feet. Combined with 91 trails, three terrain parks, and one beginner halfpipe, you’ll find plenty to challenge yourself on any day of the year.
The resort is also a popular family destination with lots of facilities for kids, including an interactive children’s trail, a specific terrain park, tubing, an ice skating rink, and even an alpine coaster! The village also has a wide range of restaurants and bars.
Snowboarding
Snowmass Colorado has the longest lift-accessed vertical in the country at 4,406 feet and is the largest of Aspen’s four ski areas. It also has a wide range of trails to suit all ability levels and terrain parks.
There are plenty of easy groomers and expert steeps, chutes, glades, cliffs, bumps, and terrain parks to keep you busy for the entire season. Combine this with the 3,132 skiable acres, long vertical and high-speed chairlifts and you’re in for a great time at Snowmass Colorado.
The resort is also home to the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and The Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center, a fun and safe place for kids to enjoy their Snowmass skiing adventures. Plus, there’s a wide selection of restaurants and bars in the village.
Bike Riding
Mountain biking is one of the most popular ways to experience the area and, with its vast network of trails, there’s something for everyone.
Whether you want to take on a long paved trail, navigate our region’s vast network of interconnected trails or ride the Power of Four route (a 60+ mile climb and descent), there’s an epic mountain biking experience waiting for you in Snowmass.
With a network of smooth dirt and roller coaster terrain, our bike park is perfect for riders of all levels. The French Press trail, for example, is a fast and flowy backbone that links riders to a variety of trails.
Hiking
Whether you’re hiking in winter or summer, the mountains surrounding Snowmass Colorado provide plenty of scenic opportunities to connect with nature. Plus, the Village is a hub for an endless array of outdoor activities, including world-class fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, and more!
Snowmass offers a number of excellent day hikes for all abilities and fitness levels. Some popular options include The Snowmass Loop, Hunter Creek- Aspen Trail and Tom Blake Trail.
In summer, Snowmass also offers a number of hikes suited to families with children and teens. Hanging Lake is a great option for young families with kids and teens who want to enjoy a cool creek, wildflowers, and some splashing around.
Summer Activities
Snowmass Colorado is known for its winter sports, but the resort also offers plenty of activities to enjoy in the summer. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely hike or a challenging adventure, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re in the mood to get up close and personal with the mountain, a trip up to Snowmass by gondola is an unforgettable experience. Travel up the Elk Camp Gondola or the Silver Queen Gondola to the top of the mountain and take in views of Highlands Bowl, Maroon Bells and Pyramid Peak.
For those who love to hike, take advantage of the many trails that crisscross the mountain. Or if you’re more interested in biking, try the mountain’s on-mountain bike park or ride the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster.
