With ski-in/ski-out lodging, a mountainside village that swells with restaurants and shops, and a variety of family-centric activities, Snowmass Colorado is an idyllic destination.
It’s hard to be bored in Snowmass — especially during the summer months, when you can try hiking, mountain biking, rafting, horseback riding and more. During the winter, it’s just as easy to fill your days with skiing and snowboarding.
Winter
Snowmass Colorado is one of the best places in the world to go skiing and snowboarding. It receives more average snowfall than most North American ski destinations and has 300 days of sunshine each year.
With a variety of slopes and terrain parks, Snowmass is the perfect mountain for relative beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders alike. Plus, Snowmass is home to a charming slopeside village brimming with restaurants and shops.
The slopes also offer plenty of other winter fun for all ages, including ice skating, an alpine coaster, and snow tubing. The rink at The Collective Snowmass Base Village Plaza, located next to the Limelight Hotel, is free for visitors staying nearby and offers free skate rentals and extended hours during the winter.
Summer
When the world-famous ski areas close for the season, Snowmass Colorado comes to life with summer events, activities and fun. You’ll find everything from whitewater rafting and inflatable kayaking to hiking, biking and Jeeping.
Mountain Disc Golf – With two 36-hole courses designed for different ages and abilities, this outdoor activity is a great way to enjoy the mountain scenery while getting some exercise. It’s also a great way to spend time with family and friends.
Bike Trails – With miles of single track and fun bike trails, Aspen Snowmass is a prime place for biking year-round. Whether you’re looking for a spin up to the Maroon Bells or an afternoon ride down to Woody Creek Tavern, there’s something for everyone here.
Rodeo – Snowmass is home to an authentic Western rodeo every Wednesday throughout the summer. This exciting event features live music, cowboys and cowgirls, a roping contest and plenty of family fun.
Other fun activities include taking a Jeep tour up Snowmass Mountain, catching a free concert series at Fanny Hill or enjoying a sunset dinner under the stars. If you’re looking to unwind, there are a number of spas and hot tubs available.
Nightlife

In the last three years, Snowmass has seen a number of new bars open up with picture-perfect patios. Turks in the Snowmass Mall is a popular late-night spot that has nearly 30 beers on tap, frequent live performances, pool tables, fooseball and a “phenomenal” atmosphere.
Bootsy Bellows is a classic ’60s art deco bar and lounge with comfortable booths, a new sports bar lounge, and plenty of late night eats. They also have a DJ spinning in the lounge and live music every Tuesday and Thursday nights.
