Snowmass Colorado is one of the largest ski areas in the world. It offers terrain for all ability levels, from mellow beginner slopes to steep and deep double black runs.
In addition to skiing, Snowmass Village is home to numerous bars and restaurants. Many of them serve up healthy fare and a variety of local craft beers.
Terrain for All Ability Levels
Across its huge footprint, Snowmass Colorado boasts plenty of terrain for everyone. There are family-friendly mellow beginner slopes, wide open groomed cruisers for intermediates and some gnarly mogul runs and glades for advanced skiers and snowboarders.
A few trails are also rated as double blacks, which is a rare occurrence at most resorts, and some even fall into the “official” extreme category.
The most advanced terrain at Snowmass comes from the three terrain parks, which are ranked year after year by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine for their impressive features and challenges. The main park is the largest on the mountain, with over 100 features – including a 22-foot Zaugg-cut superpipe – and a number of other innovative elements.
Snowmass also offers a couple of bunny hills, one located mid-mountain and the other near the base. The latter is especially unique in that it is physically siphoned off from harder terrain carrying more experienced visitors and features a dedicated chairlift for easy loading.
96 Trails
Snowmass is a skier’s paradise with 96 trails and a huge range of terrain parks and pipes to keep you entertained. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, this place is guaranteed to have something for everyone!
With 5% of the terrain dedicated to beginner terrain, Snowmass offers plenty of options for those new to the sport. Fanny Hill and Assay Hill are two areas that are perfect for those just learning the ropes.
If you’re a more advanced skier, Sheer Bliss and Campground are the best places to take on some of Snowmass’ highest terrain. You can also hike up to Long Shot and Big Burn, two areas that feature widely spaced trees with a progression of steepness.
