Snowmass Colorado is one of the most diverse ski resorts in North America. It has everything from wide cruisers to terrain parks and a variety of double black diamond runs.
While the mountain is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, it also caters to advanced skiers and shredders alike. It has plenty of terrain that ranges from mellow beginner slopes to wide open groomed cruisers to mogul and gladed trails, a half pipe, and acres of terrain parks.
Skiing & Snowboarding
With more than 3,300 skiable acres, Snowmass Colorado offers a wide variety of terrain options for every level of skier and snowboarder. There are easy groomers, expert steeps, chutes, glades and terrain parks to explore, with 91 trails, 21 lifts and 4,406 feet of leg-burning vertical access.
With 48% of its terrain rated as intermediate, Snowmass is a great place for intermediate skiers and snowboarders to practice their skills while gaining confidence on the slopes. This mountain also features two areas for beginners, Assay Hill and Fanny Hill, where they can learn to carve turns while gaining their first experience on the slopes.
Snowmass is a world-class destination for skiing and snowboarding, offering more than 3,362 skiable acres between its four mountains. It also has 91 trails, 3 terrain parks, 1 superpipe and 1 beginner halfpipe.

While the terrain and apres ski at Aspen Snowmass might be what draws most visitors to this mountain town, it’s also home to a wide variety of dining and shopping opportunities. From upscale fine-dining establishments to family-friendly eateries, there’s something for everyone.
For a slope-side dining experience without ever having to step off the lift, visit Snowmass Kitchen, which serves fusion cuisine with a ski resort ambiance. Or try one of the many quaint restaurants in Snowmass Village, such as TORO Kitchen and Lounge (a modern re-imagining of Eight K), which offers Pan-Latin dishes with fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers.
If you’re in the mood for a quick lunch, check out The Stew Pot, which offers a wide variety of soups and sandwiches. Or fuel your day with great bagels, burritos and smoothies at Fuel – locals’ favorite breakfast spot!
Nightlife & Entertainment

Snowmass is home to a variety of bars and restaurants, from casual pizza parlors to upscale steakhouses. Some of these restaurants even offer take-out food options.
If you’re looking for a great spot to hang out after a day of skiing, check out Zane’s Tavern in Snowmass Village. The tavern offers an extensive menu of bar favorites including burgers, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, and tater tots. The tavern also has a fun, casual atmosphere and a warm patio.
Activities & Outdoors
Snowmass Colorado is known for its skiing, but the area also offers plenty of fun outdoor activities to keep you occupied. From hikes to bike trails, whitewater rafting to fishing, hot air ballooning to horseback riding, you’ll never run out of options in this scenic mountain town.
Hiking is one of the most popular outdoor activities in Snowmass, and the surrounding area offers a variety of hiking trails that range from easy strolls to challenging climbs. During the summer, you can even hike on wildflower-strewn trails.
You can also hike at the Lost Forest Alpine Adventure Park in Elk Camp, which features a Breathtaker alpine coaster, a canopy run zipline course, a treetops rope course and more. The Snowmass Bike Park is another great option to explore the mountains on a bike.
