Skiing & Snowboarding

Snowmass Colorado boasts one of the world’s largest ski areas, and it’s just a few minutes’ drive from the resort town of Aspen. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced, this destination has plenty of trails to satisfy your skiing or snowboarding needs.

With more than 150 miles of runs covering 4,406 vertical feet, Snowmass is a great place to find the perfect run for your abilities. You’ll find everything from wide blue cruisers to a variety of challenging black diamonds, so there’s something here for everyone!

There’s also plenty of off-piste tree runs, cliff bands and steeps for those looking to take it to the next level. Despite its size, Snowmass caters well to park shredders through three terrain parks and an extensive half pipe.

The Limelight Hotel Snowmass is one of the best and most famous places to stay in Snowmass as it offers a complimentary breakfast buffet, a massive outdoor heated pool and hot tubs and is a short walk from the Elk Camp Gondola.

The Stonebridge Inn is another great option to consider as it is a full service boutique that is in the heart of Snowmass Village and offers year-round outdoor heated pool, hot tubs and The Artisan Restaurant, one of the top dining options in town.

Dining

After a day on the slopes, you’ll need to fuel up. Luckily, Snowmass Colorado has plenty of restaurants to choose from.

There are a few local favorites that are well-known to the area, like Stew Pot and Zane’s Chicken Wings. These restaurants are inexpensive and will satisfy your taste buds.

Another great choice is NEST Bar & Grill. This restaurant specializes in lunch and apres ski, offering fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches that are sure to fill you up!

Then there are more upscale options, such as iL Poggio, which offers a lively atmosphere and delicious Italian cuisine. It also has an extensive cocktail and wine menu.

Finally, Last Chair has 10 taps of Colorado’s finest brews alongside unique entrees and specialty pizzas. The restaurant is popular with both locals and guests and is a great place to grab a beer and hang after a day on the slopes. It also features lounge seating, cozy corners and fireside joiner tables.

Activities

Whether you’re in town for a few days or a month, there are endless fun and exciting things to do in Snowmass Colorado. Skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating are just a few of the options that make this mountain resort so popular.

If you’re visiting Snowmass in the summer, there are also some other exciting options to consider. For example, you can visit the Lost Forest tucked inside Elk Camp on Snowmass Mountain. This is a great spot to spend a day and enjoy the breathtaking views of the National Forest.

Another option is to get a bird’s eye view of the mountains by signing up for a hot air balloon ride. This is a great way to see the mountains from above and take in the stunning views of Mount Daly, Capitol Peak, and the Elk Mountains.
