There are several options for enjoying the outdoor activity of the season, including ice skating, cross-country skiing and dog sledding tours. Cross-country skiing

If you are looking for a healthy way to stay active during the winter months, then consider cross-country skiing. It is a great activity for almost any age. Unlike downhill skiing, cross-country skiing requires less physical fitness, but provides an intense workout.

Aspen and Snowmass both offer some excellent trails for cross-country skiing. There are many different types of trails to choose from, including low-pitched and high-pitched routes.

The Snowmass Cross Country Center offers ski rentals and lessons. There is also a retail shop and snack bar. This is the western hub of the Aspen Snowmass Nordic Trail System.

Krabloonik Dog Sledding has been in business since 1976. Its sleds are powered by eight to ten Alaskan huskies. This company provides some of the best sled rides in the area.

In the past, Krabloonik has received some controversy and a number of whistle-blower complaints. Some of the company’s sled dogs have been mistreated. One of the more impressive Krabloonik dog sled tours is the one they offer that traverses the wilderness.

Spas

Snowmass is a popular Rocky Mountain resort town with a number of spas that can help relax you after a day of outdoor adventures. You can also find activities for non-skiers and couples to enjoy.

For the ultimate relaxing experience, try the Viceroy Snowmass spa. This facility offers a variety of treatments, including a hot stone massage and traditional facials. They also offer ski-in and ski-out massages. The 30-minute Alpine Express massage helps ease tension and improves circulation.
