Dog sledding

Dog sledding is one of the best winter activities you can do in Vail. Not only does it involve getting in contact with friendly and lovable Alaskan Huskies, but you also get to experience some of the most breathtaking mountain views in the state.

In the Vail Valley, there are several dog sledding outfitters to choose from. One of them is called Mountain Musher, which has been providing the best dog sledding in the valley since 1989.

For a complete experience, opt for a full day of dog sledding in Vail. This includes transportation and a hot beverage.

Ice skating rinks

Other winter activities you can do in the Vail Valley are stand-up paddleboarding, fly fishing, and white water rafting. Ice bumper cars are another fun winter activity. Lastly, you can visit the Winterfest Ice Theater, which typically takes place the weekend before Christmas. This ice theater is located at the Gore Creek Promenade and features outdoor movies in ice chairs.

In addition to the many things to do in the Vail Valley in the winter, you can also enjoy some fine shopping, fine dining, and world-class nightlife. Plus, the town has an impressive public art collection.

Gore Creek Trail

If you’re visiting Vail, Colorado in winter, you can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities. One of the best is hiking. With 300 days of sunshine each year, the mountains in this area offer plenty of great spots to enjoy nature.
