Up the Creek, an old time favorite in Vail since 1988, offers a creek side meal and pretty views of the babbling Eagle River. This long reputable fine-dining establishment, with tons of windows for the perfect view, is open for lunch, dinner and cocktails apres ski.

The cozy interior is reminiscent of the Swiss Alps, complete with cow chairs for your enjoyment and an Austrian waiter in lederhosen to serve up the traditional fare.

For an even more authentic alpine dining experience, ride the snow cat up to Cloud 9. This international influenced eatery is a little off the beaten path in Vail’s Game Creek Bowl, but you can’t miss it for its picturesque views of Colorado’s famous Maroon Bells.

Activities

Vail is one of the world’s premier ski destinations, but that’s not all this mountain town has to offer. Its year-round outdoor activities and cultural events make it the perfect destination for families, couples, and singles alike to relax and unwind.

With its mountain peaks, lakes, and rivers, it’s no surprise that Vail is a winter wonderland. But it also has plenty to offer during the summer, too!

Climb a 14er, trek to an alpine lake, go horseback riding with llamas or even enjoy a day of fishing on the legendary waters of the Colorado River. Whatever your preference, we have a great guide ready to lead you to a fun adventure in the mountains year-round!

During the spring, take advantage of our many hot springs. These natural pools are formed when subsurface magma heats the groundwater, creating steam and warm water. Some resorts have harnessed this thermal energy to create geothermal pools, while others focus on soaking in the heated waters of a traditional hot tub or mineral pool.

Hiking is another fun way to explore the Rocky Mountains, especially during the spring and summer. Choose from a half-day or full-day tour and you can hike along mountain trails with stunning views and the chance to spot wildlife and wildflowers.

Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, try a whitewater rafting trip through Browns Canyon. This scenic route is suitable for rafters of all skill levels, including kids!

Then, head to Vail Brewing Company for a craft beer. Whether you want a cocktail or a full bottle of their bourbon, rye, moonshine, or potato vodka, this brewery has something for everyone.

And don’t forget to check out the local farmers market on summer Sundays! The market offers a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits and other locally produced products.

If you’re looking for a more unusual experience, book a goat yoga session at Vail Stables. The ages 8+ can learn the basics of downward dog and other yoga poses with playful, easygoing goats. They’re a lot of fun and can help you get your workout in without putting much strain on your shoulders or back.
